Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions we get from Englewood drivers about auto body repair, insurance claims, hail damage, and what to expect when you bring your vehicle to us.

Collision Repair

Collision Repair

How long does collision repair typically take?

Most collision repairs at Englewood Auto Body are completed within 3 to 7 business days depending on the extent of damage, parts availability, and insurance approval. We give you a realistic timeline upfront when we write your estimate, and we communicate with you throughout the process so there are no surprises.

Will my car look exactly the same after a collision repair?

Yes. We use computerized color matching and a climate-controlled spray booth to ensure the repaired panels blend seamlessly with your vehicle's original finish. Our I-CAR certified technicians restore structural components to factory specifications. When your vehicle leaves our shop, it should be indistinguishable from its pre-accident condition.

Do I need to get multiple estimates before choosing a shop?

Colorado law gives you the right to choose any licensed repair shop you trust - your insurance company cannot legally require you to use their preferred shop. You do not need multiple estimates. One thorough estimate from a certified shop like ours is sufficient. We document all damage completely and stand behind our work.

What is the difference between structural and cosmetic repair?

Cosmetic repairs address visible surface damage - scratches, dents, paint. Structural repairs correct damage to the frame, unibody, or crash zones that determine how your vehicle performs in a subsequent collision. Both matter, but structural integrity is a safety issue. Our computerized measuring equipment identifies hidden structural damage that a visual inspection alone cannot detect.

Insurance and Claims

Insurance and Claims

Do you work directly with my insurance company?

Yes. We work directly with all major insurance carriers including State Farm, Allstate, GEICO, Progressive, Farmers, USAA, and Nationwide. We handle documentation, estimate submission, adjuster communication, and supplement requests on your behalf. You drop off your vehicle and we take it from there.

What if my insurance estimate is lower than what the repair actually costs?

This happens regularly. Insurance companies often issue initial estimates that do not capture the full extent of damage. We file supplements directly with your insurer to cover the difference. You pay your deductible - we handle everything else. Our job is to make sure your vehicle gets a complete, proper repair, not just a minimal one.

Will filing a claim affect my insurance rates?

That depends on your specific policy, carrier, and the circumstances of the accident. We recommend calling your insurance agent before filing to understand your options. What we can tell you is that unrepaired damage will cost you more over time - in safety risk, resale value loss, and corrosion. We are happy to discuss your situation before you decide.

Can my insurance company force me to use their preferred shop?

No. In Colorado, you have the legal right to choose any licensed repair facility. Your insurance company may have preferred shops on their direct repair program, but they cannot require you to use them. Choose a shop based on certification, reputation, and warranty - not insurer preference.

Hail Damage

Hail Damage

Does insurance cover hail damage repair?

In most cases, yes. Hail damage is covered under the comprehensive portion of your auto insurance policy, which is separate from collision coverage and typically does not affect your rates. If you carry comprehensive coverage, your hail repair cost will be your deductible - we handle everything else directly with your insurer.

What is paintless dent repair and is it right for my hail damage?

Paintless dent repair, or PDR, is a technique where trained technicians use specialized tools to massage dented metal back into its original shape from behind the panel - without removing paint or using filler. It is the industry standard for hail damage and preserves your factory finish completely. Most hail damage on modern vehicles qualifies for PDR.

How quickly should I get hail damage repaired?

As soon as possible. Hail damage that goes unrepaired can allow moisture to penetrate any chipped paint areas, leading to rust and corrosion over time. Additionally, insurance companies may dispute pre-existing damage if you wait too long to file a claim after a storm. Getting an inspection right away protects both your vehicle and your claim.

Scheduling an Appointment

Scheduling an Appointment

How do I schedule a repair at Englewood Auto Body?

Use the appointment form on our Make an Appointment page and we will confirm within one business hour. You can also call us directly at (303) 781-1988 during business hours, Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. We do not require you to come in before your appointment - describe the damage when you book and we will be prepared when you arrive.

What should I bring when I drop off my vehicle?

Bring your insurance claim number if you have filed a claim, your insurance card, and your vehicle keys. If you have not yet filed a claim, that is fine - we can help you start the process at drop-off. We will document all damage with photos and submit everything to your insurer on your behalf.

Do you offer rental car assistance?

We work with Enterprise and other local rental agencies and can help coordinate a rental vehicle during your repair. If your claim is covered under another driver's liability policy, their insurance is typically required to cover your rental. We can help clarify what your specific situation entitles you to.

Can I get an estimate without scheduling a full repair?

Absolutely. A free estimate is always available with no obligation. We inspect your vehicle, document all damage thoroughly with photos, and give you a complete written estimate. There is no pressure and no commitment required. Many customers bring their vehicle in for an estimate first, then decide how to proceed once they understand the full scope of the repair.

Shop, Quality and Credentials

Shop, Quality and Credentials

Are your technicians certified?

Yes. All technicians at Englewood Auto Body are I-CAR certified. I-CAR is the industry's leading training organization for collision repair professionals, and certification requires ongoing education to maintain. Our team trains regularly on new vehicle platforms, ADAS calibration, aluminum and high-strength steel repair, and modern paint systems.

What warranty do you offer on repairs?

We provide a lifetime warranty on all paint and refinishing work performed at our facility, valid for as long as you own the vehicle. Structural and mechanical repairs are also warranted against defects in workmanship. If anything is not right after your vehicle leaves our shop, bring it back and we will make it right - no questions asked.

Do you use OEM parts?

We use Original Equipment Manufacturer parts wherever possible and always where required by your insurance policy or manufacturer guidelines. We do not substitute cheap aftermarket parts when OEM parts are available. Using the right parts protects your vehicle's safety rating, maintains your manufacturer warranty, and preserves resale value.

Are you locally owned?

Yes. Englewood Auto Body is a locally owned, independent shop located at 2902 S Broadway in Englewood, Colorado. We are not a franchise or a chain. The people who answer the phone and write your estimate are the same people responsible for the quality of your repair. Our reputation in this community is everything to us.

What areas do you serve?

Our shop is located at 2902 S Broadway in Englewood, CO and we serve drivers from across the South Denver metro - including Littleton, Sheridan, Cherry Hills Village, Centennial, Greenwood Village, and South Denver. Most of our customers are within a 20-minute drive of our location.

How do I know if my vehicle is safe to drive after an accident?

If your vehicle has been in a significant impact, has deployed airbags, has frame or structural damage, or if any safety systems are showing warning lights, you should not drive it until it has been inspected. A vehicle that looks okay on the outside may have hidden structural damage that compromises its safety in a subsequent accident. Call us and we can advise you based on what you describe.

Do you work on all makes and models?

Yes. We repair all domestic and imported vehicles including cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans. Our technicians receive ongoing training on new vehicle platforms and modern materials including high-strength steel, aluminum, and advanced composites. Whether you drive a daily commuter, a pickup, or a luxury vehicle, our team has the equipment and training to handle it.

What if my vehicle is a total loss?

If your insurance company declares your vehicle a total loss, we can still help. We can provide documentation of the repair costs, assist you in understanding the evaluation, and in some cases help you negotiate with your insurer if you believe the settlement is too low. We are on your side throughout the process.
